Last night David Letterman dropped a bombshell on his audience.  He had reportedly been the target of a blackmail attempt by a shady television producer.  The blackmailer wanted Letterman to give him 2 Million Dollars or he would release the sorted details of Letterman’s sexual affair with an employee of the “Late Show.”

Of course, no one knew who the mistress was until today when it was announce shoe Letterman’s mistress really was.  Well, we do now. Letterman’s Mistress was Stephanie Birkitt. At the time she did everything from calling guests to arranging shows and even appeared on the show a few times as you can see by the image above.  She was eventually promoted as Associate Producer for a show segment.

Apparently this whole thing was kind of Stephanie Birkitt’s fault.  You see, the alleged blackmailer Robert “Joe” Halderman apparently had Birkitt’s diary, correspondence and photos which incriminated Letterman. Girls and their stupid diaries… when will they ever learn?
